Department:Hays Family Practice - Qualifications: Pay Grade: 29 ($24.99 - $31.23) Knowledge, Experience & Professional Credentials Required: Current license and ceritification to practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of Kansas. Graduate from an accdredited school of nursing. Current CPR certification. Knowledge of advanced nursing practice. Maintain continuing education to ensure ongoing licensure and state certification. Job Duties and Tasks: Provide primary services to include examination, diagnosis, assessment, treatment, and follow-up care under established protocols: Function independently, effectively and efficiently according to protocols; Provide appropriate, accurate and complete healthcare dictation to establish, promote and document continuity of patient care in a timely manner as written in hospital by-laws; Update patient medical record with all information gathered at each patient assessment to include problem list and medication list; Use appropriate teaching methods to educate patient and families about their illness/injury, providing written information and document properly in chart; Educate patient about prescribed medication(s) and provide micromedex handout; Appropriate and complete coding on all charge tickets: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and provide reimbursement management of all applicable areas of coding; Ensure documentation supports level of service and diagnosis in relation to charges presented to patient; Ensure all charting, billing and coding are being documented and all services being provided are being billed appropriately. Supervision and coordination of clinical and non-clinical staff in the daily operations and delivery of quality patient care: Ensure staff receives adequate training on processes, proper usage of equipment and computer functions to enable them to perform within their job description in a professional and productive manner; Ensure staff compliance with all human resource requirements to include department checklist,90-day and annual evaluations, appropriate clocking in/out techniques, and correct E&E reporting no later than established deadline; Keep abreast of and ensure all HMC/PPA policies and procedures, JCAHO standards, RHC, and other applicable governance regulations are being adhered to; Ensure current licensure is maintained and made available to be included in HMC HR file; Maintain scheduled hours in collaboration with department director. Enact quality improvement processes to ensure the most effective and efficient methods of patient care are being implemented. Participate in seminars, workshops and other educational activities to maintain and enhance professional competence and skills. Assist in all marketing efforts on behalf of your area.
