CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (1) Position requires screening for susceptibility to rubella and if, susceptible, immunization with rubella vaccine. Salary: $20,952 - $27,234 PER ANNUM, PLUS 25 PERCENT COLA Region: Pacific Organization: Tripler Army Medical Center Various Departments Duty Station: Tripler Army Medical Center, HI Area of Consideration: Open to U.S. citizens and American Samoans. Expanded Definitions Duties: Serves as a nursing assistant in one of several areas of a Medical Treatment Facility, such as hospital clinic or ward emergency room, outpatient clinic, occupational health clinic or a similar location. Performs nursing care and other personal services to patients whose conditions can vary widely from those requiring normal nursing care to those requiring close observation. Subject to work in rotating shifts and may function in a variety of patient care settings on short notice. Takes and records blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height and weight; measures and records intake and output; gives routine care to pre and post-operative patients. Within the established scope of practice, monitors intravenous fluids, obtains routine specimens for laboratory analysis and performs standard tests. Applies and removes bandages, binders, simple dressings and hot and cold packs. During examinations and treatment of patients, positions and drapes patient, selects instruments, sets up equipment and instruments and hands instruments to physician as required. Provides personal care to include bathing, shaving, feeding, rubbing backs, and making equipment and supplies available to patient such as bedpans, linen, and grooming items. Accompanies patients in wheelchairs, on litters, or ambulatory within hospital. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to pre-planned emergency measures. Makes beds and performs general maintenance duties including cleaning and arranging supply cupboards. Provides patient care as assigned to include documentation of nursing activities in patients records as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements: 6 months of general and 6 months of specialized experience OR 2 years education above high school with courses related to the occupation General Experience:(1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicants ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject areas of the occupation.
