Description:
Background: RN opportunity at the Reagan Test Site (RTS) located in the exotic and tropical island of Kwajalein in the Republic of Marshall Islands. Reagan Test Site (RTS) complex includes a variety of radar, telemetry, and other instrumentation and communication systems. This location is a beautiful, tropical setting in the central Pacific that offers year-round water sports and many other recreational activities. Kwajalein is similar to most American communities with schools, hospital, stores and all public works. Crime is virtually non-existent, and so is traffic, private automobiles are not authorized and bicycles are the primary mode of transportation. Position: Registered Nurse: This position is a real chance to utilize the strong skills you have recently obtained in critical care by providing individualized, age specific care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As the direct report to the Director of Nursing, the RN is empowered with the authority to direct and coordinate all nursing care for medical/surgical patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. The RN will be responsible for assuming the nursing care of critically ill patients, actively engaging in the assessment and treatment for minor illnesses, and utilizing nursing process to administer treatments and medications. The RN will also be responsible for interpreting diagnostic tests/formulating a plan of care, collaborating with physicians and other professional disciplines to ensure a desired patient outcome and demonstrating proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet individual patient needs. The RN will be actively involved in staff and patient teaching, completing and reviewing chart documentation and assisting with procedure and policy review and revision as required. Job Requirements: This position will include a current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in the US and 2 years of recent hospital experience in a role where the candidate has a demonstrated ability to manage critical care issues. A working knowledge of JCAHO Standards Compliance is required. Current PALS/TNCC/NRC Certification is desired.
